pTex Solutions launches
Freeborders PLM solutions at International Textiles and Apparel Congress
Mumbai Maharastra, India, June X, 2005 – pTex Solutions, the exclusive distributor of Freeborders’ products and services in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Mauritius, recently debuted Freeborders PLM Suite at the 3rd International Textiles and Apparel Congress (ITAC), sponsored by KSA Technopak in Mumbai, India. ITAC is one of the largest events for the textiles, apparel, and retail fashion value chain..
Freeborders PLM Suite is used by more than 500 companies across 26 countries. It is a comprehensive, fully integrated Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution that enables trend, design, range and product development as well as sourcing for the textile, apparel and retail supply chain.
“KSA Technopak’s ITAC was an ideal platform for us to introduce Freeborders products and services to leading companies in this region because attendance included Reliance, Mothercare, GAP, Benetton, Santista Textile, Gokaldas Images, Orient Craft, Raymond Apparel, Beximco, Gul Ahmed Textile Mills, MAS Holdings and many others,” said Prasham Kamdar, Managing Director of PTex Solutions. “We have received much better response than expected from ITAC because Freeborders PLM Suite offers benefits of speed-to-market for everyone within the textile value chain, from fiber manufacturer to brands and retailers.”
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) allows companies within the textile and retail vertical to address key challenges such as shortening lead times, reducing product development costs and improving visibility and control across the supply chain.
More and more garment manufacturers are investing in product development departments to provide new products and style faster to customers.
"Product Lifecycle Management creates a virtual company by linking the supply chain from end-to-end,” said Andrew Lo, Deputy CEO of the $800-million, Hong Kong-based Crystal Group, one of Asia's largest garment manufacturers. “It allows real-time collaboration between various people, for example, the design center in London can share information with the sales and merchandising office in Delhi and fabric sourcing office in Shanghai. Hence, it reduces the lead times and product development costs."
“Through PTex, Freeborders provides regional companies with the same world-class product development system that is already being used by some of the leading companies in the world,” said Kamdar. “In addition, PTex implements best practices to support those products.”
